Dress Code and Discipline Policy

LAUSD policy states that every school can adopt a uniform policy depending on the specific needs of the school. In 2004, a uniform policy was adopted by a vote of the West Hollywood Elementary School Site Council to reinforce the school’s discipline efforts and provide increased safety and security to our students.

Our policy is that boys shall wear a white or navy blue collared shirt and navy blue or khaki pants or shorts.  The pants or shorts should be appropriately belted around the waist.  Girls shall wear a white or navy blue collared shirt and navy or khaki pants, shorts, skirts or jumpers. Jewelry should be appropriate with studs or very small hoops for earrings.  Shoes should be closed-toe and have a rubber sole. We ask all students to refrain from wearing hats and caps while indoors.

Uniforms may be purchased from Carrusel Uniforms with the school logo. In addition, there are many retail stores that carry acceptable uniforms for our school are:  Target, Gap, Old Navy, and Lands End. You may also contact FOWHE to connect with parents who have new or slightly used uniforms that children have grown out of/never worn.
